Born: 1861 (March 13), Oshawa, Ontario (at the time: Canada West) 
Died: 1940 (December 13), Vancouver, British Columbia

  • He studied law at the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall
  • He was called to the Ontario and British Columbia bars in 1889 and 1892 respectively.
  • In 1898 he was elected as a member of British Columbia's Legislature for the riding of New Westminster.
  • In 1899 he was named Kings Council and was a court judge in Vancouver from 1901 until 1907.
  • As Commissioner of Yukon he presided over the first wholly elected Yukon Council.
