Events

Taylor House, Yukon's Government House

This year we worked with MacBride Museum to hold talks on the lawn of the Taylor House. We had such a great time that we have decided to host other events here at the Taylor House in hopes to make Yukon's Government House a place to gather, celebrate our history and rejoice in what our future holds.

If you have ideas for an interesting outdoor event at the Taylor House, or are looking for a venue to hold your function please contact the office and we will work with you to include it in the calendar for the summer of 2017.

Celebratory Tulips

150th anniversary tulip

This is the beautiful tulip designed by the Netherlands specifically for Canada's 150th birthday next year.

Watch this Spring for the 150 bulbs planted on the Taylor House lawn begin to sprout.

The public can purchase Canada 150 tulip bulbs at participating Home Hardware stores, so they can enjoy the beauty of this special tulip as part of the Canada 150 celebrations in spring 2017.

Yukon's Government House dedication ceremony

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, Commissioner of Yukon and the Premier of Yukon were on hand to dedicate the historic Taylor House as Yukon's Government House on July 6, 2015.
